What Does Gorse Help With...

10ml and 25ml Gorse Remedy bottles

Gorse is the remedy for those who suffer great uncertainty in the process of life, causing them to experience feelings of hopelessness and despair. This is a state sometimes found in those with a long-term illness who have lost all hope of recovery or in those whose experiences have caused them to view life ‘as a lost cause’. When this state is very deep rooted a person may have dark rings under the eyes or be prone to sigh a lot. Taken over a period of time Gorse will help to dispel these dark feelings and promote new hope and vision for the future.

Dr Bach’s Description of Gorse

Dr Edward Bach portrait

"Very great hopelessness, they have given up belief that more can be done for them. Under persuasion or to please others they may try different treatments, at the same time assuring those around that there is so little hope of relief."

From the Twelve Healers & Other Remedies - By Dr Edward Bach ( 1936 edition )

More Insights Into Gorse

"Gorse Flower Remedy restores hope when you can’t see the light and have given up hope of things ever being different"

“Gorse Flower Remedy restores hope when you can’t see the light and have given up hope of things ever being different. There is a flat heaviness to this state, as though some part of you has given up on life itself. You feel dark, disengaged, and unable to see any real point to anything. The flower essence made from the beautiful sunshine yellow gorse flowers can help you to find your own inner light once again. Gorse is a wonderful remedy for helping you to find a glimmer of hope, even in the darkest of times.” Jackie Stewart - Crystal Herbs

"Gorse embodies the Soul quality of hope. If you're in the negative Gorse state, you have sunk within yourself, have let go of your aspirations, have become resigned, and have given up hope. One example might be a person who has been without work for three years, has had more than fifty interviews, and still has no job prospects. Another might be an individual who has courageously but futilely fought to rid herself of debt and has no ideas what to do next." The Encyclopedia of Bach Flower Therapy by Mechthild Scheffer

"The Four Helpers started with Gorse, the remedy which shakes and reawakens the mentality of someone who has long been ill and has become resigned to fate. It challenges the assumption that nothing can be done, however hopeless the situation may appear. This chronic condition builds up over time like a slow suffocation or mental decay. Bach must have seen it often enough amongst patients who had stopped making the effort to improve in health. Of course, in all healing there must be a desire in the patient to get well, he wrote in The Four Helpers. This remedy was needed for those whose desire to become well had not only faltered but stopped." Bach Flower Remedies Form & Function by Julian Barnard

"Gorse is for those who have lost heart and suffer from hopelessness and despair after the failure of many treatments to help them. It is for those who have been told that there is nothing more that can be done and who therefore feel that they must continue to bear their pain and suffering for the rest of their lives. It is for the person who feels that it is useless to try further treatment, but just to please a relative or friend they will "try once more' although as one patient said, 'I know that it will do no good'."
