What Does Cerato Help With...

10ml and 25ml Centaury Remedy bottles

Cerato restores the qualities of inner certainty and wisdom. Those in need of Cerato have difficulty trusting in their own intuition or ‘inner voice’. They appear to have an air of uncertainty around them and tend to seek the opinions of others when faced with decisions in their lives, rather than trust their own judgement. Even when they have consulted with friends & colleagues they will still have great difficulty making a firm choice of direction causing themselves much confusion. The statement ‘I don’t know’ can often be heard from the lips of those in the negative Cerato state. Cerato helps to create a bridge between the personality and the Soul restoring the ability to know and trust one’s own innate inner wisdom.

Dr Bach’s Description of Cerato

Dr Edward Bach portrait

"Those who have not sufficient confidence in themselves to make their own decisions. They constantly seek advice from others, and are often misguided"

From the Twelve Healers & Other Remedies - By Dr Edward Bach ( 1936 edition )

More Insights Into Cerato

"Cerato relates to the Soul's potential for inner certainty, trust in the inner voice, and intuition. In a negative Cerato state a person has great difficulty accepting his own perceptions and acting on them. When a decision has to be made the answer comes intuitively, but the head, the rational mind, doesn't accept this intuitive re-sponse. Instead, it rapidly employs various routine arguments and adopted patterns to push aside the intuitive solution. Therefore, a person may intuitively know something to be right but cannot put this knowledge into practice with conviction, and as a result an inner conflict arises. The person doubts the correctness of his own decisions and fails to trust his intuition." The Encyclopedia of Bach Flower Therapy by Mechthild Scheffer

"The uncertainty of Cerato types concerns self-identity: these are souls who do not know who they are. Bach gave Cerato the archetype of The Fool and in a complex description of the condition he set the positive virtue as wisdom - 'wisdom to comprehend the truth: judgement to define right from wrong and encourage strength and ability to keep to the right path when realised'. When someone says to you I am not sure of my type remedy, I am quite Water Violet at times but I'm also Impatiens and Mimulus ..? there is a good chance that this is a Cerato person, if only because of the evident contradiction in the other three. Implied in the statement there is also the question - what do you think my type remedy is?' Bach said: 'Always asking advice from different people but not following it, never feeling quite satisfied that they have the answer they require. Often wish to do things that seem foolish'." Bach Flower Remedies Form & Function by Julian Barnard

"There are those persons who possess much wisdom, who are intuitive, who hold definite opinions of their own, yet they doubt their own ability. They are quite capable of doing foolish things by following the advice of others, against their own good judgement. Such is the CERATO type, and when they discover that the advice upon which they acted was unsound, they are apt to say: "I knew better. I knew that I should have done so-and-so."
