What Does Wild Oat Help With...

10ml and 25ml Wild Oat Remedy bottles

Wild Oat promotes an inner certainty about the vocational direction of ones life. Those in need of Wild Oat have not yet connected with the inner direction of their Soul that would give them clarity on the direction of their chosen life path. They are often strongly ambitious people with many talents and gifts but as they lack a strong inner sense of how to use them tend to end up flitting from one thing to another. A state of uncertainty that means they are endlessly searching in the outer world for the ‘right’ direction when the answer is actually within themselves. Wild Oat helps to strengthen their inner connection and promote clarity of direction.

Dr Bach’s Description of Wild Oat

Dr Edward Bach portrait

"Those who have ambitions to do something of prominence in life, who wish to have much experience, and to enjoy all that which is possible for them, to take life to the full. Their difficulty is to determine what occupation to follow; as although their ambitions are strong, they have no calling which appeals to them above all others. This may cause delay and dissatisfaction."

From the Twelve Healers & Other Remedies - By Dr Edward Bach ( 1936 edition )

More Insights Into Wild Oat

"Wild Oat relates to the Soul's potential for knowing one's inner purpose. If you're in the negative Wild Oat state, you don't know your true vocation, and are therefore unfulfilled and dissatisfied deep inside." The Encyclopedia of Bach Flower Therapy by Mechthild Scheffer

"Wild Oat, the last of the Seven Helpers, is a remedy that may be needed by anyone. This is an important distinction. Up until now Bach had differentiated according to the individual emotional state or mental outlook of the person - Gorse for the hopeless, Clematis for the dreamy - and here, with the nineteenth remedy in his new range, he settled upon something more general and universal. Wild Oat, he says, is an all-purpose remedy to use 'in cases which do not respond to other herbs [essences] or when it seems difficult to decide which to give....' For those at a loss to make a choice among either the Twelve Healers or the other six Helpers then 'in all such cases try the remedy Wild Oat'; it will guide our further choice." Bach Flower Remedies Form & Function by Julian Barnard

"The Wild Oat people have a definite character and they are very talented, but they seem to be undecided as to what they should do. Usually they are ambitious, and they may have a general idea as to which course to follow, but the indications are not sufficiently clear, and they are inclined to feel that life is passing them by. This delay in finding their life's work causes them to feel despondent and dissatisfied. They try many things, but none of them seem to bring them happiness. They have the tendency toward drifting into uncongenial environments and occupations, and this only increases their sense of frustration." Illustrated Handbook of the Bach Flower Remedies by Philip Chancellor
